I had gotten a new one from xm and had problems with it not working so they replaced it with this one(please excuse the dust on the dashboard in the photos, I was not expecting company, lol.)Finally broke down and bought this during the Prime Day sale, after trying to decide whether to upgrade from my streaming only package that I've had for the last year or so. Been playing it via FM receiver in my car via the bluetooth on my phone, and that WORKED but it just wasn't all that convenient, and the sound quality was acceptable but sometimes a bit iffy. So when they reduced the price of this unit down to lower than any other time since I've been tracking it, I went ahead and got it.Converting over from my streaming only service to the regular radio service was easy, I did it via chat on their website, and while they tried, naturally, to upsell me to a more expensive package (I did NOT use the offer on the box; via their website, they were offering the $16.99 service for $4.99/month for the next year, less than what I've been paying for streaming only, and a better deal than on the box), they made it very easy to change service plans and did it all for me while we were doing the chat.Re the installation: Saw online that while the instructions say to mount the antenna on the roof outside, and run the wiring underneath the weather stripping on the windshield and into the car that way, people have been just attaching it to the dash or windshield from INSIDE the car and having it work for them. So given that it's the middle of summer and the mosquitos eat you alive any time you step outside here, I opted to at least TRY putting the antenna inside the car. Attached it to my rear view mirror so it was really only a few inches away from where it would be if I had it outside. And it worked, kinda. While I was on the freeway during my work commute. Sounded fantastic there. But there are so many trees here in Raleigh that the signal kept breaking every time I'd drive in my neighborhood, or in the neighborhood right close to work. Sounded absolutely awful, like listening to a record skipping on a turntable. After a week of that, decided to battle the mosquitos outside, and mount the thing per the instructions on the roof and see if that fixed the audio dropouts.Made All The Difference In The World. Been driving here there and everywhere, and since I put it on the roof over the weekend, for the last three days since then, the audio has NOT broken even once.So yes, now that I followed the concept of "when all else fails, follow the directions", I am LOVING having proper satellite radio in my car. Sounds much better than the Bluetooth FM receiver version, and the extra features on the dock, like artist alert and all those presets, are awesome. Still learning what all the extra buttons do, and went ahead and picked up a remote for it on ebay, so I don't have to reach quite so far to work them. Just really impressed across the board with it now.I have Sirius in my car, love it. Got this for home but beware, you have to get a second subscription. Sirius does offer a 'family' plan in which you pay 1/2 price of the initial subscription. The little antenna works unusually well indoors, did not have to be mounted outside. It is against a wall, about 2 feet from a window and gets a great signal.Only other issue is that a second home kit costs more than the kit with a receiver. No idea why....This is an easy way to get the Sirius channels into your house. The quality of the music depends on the stereo set-up you plug it in to. It's easy to set up. The antenna works inside of the stereo cabinet. One thing that I didn't like is the push buttons are very small. If you live in the northern hemisphere, you need to point the antenna south. No issuesDefinitely worth the money, love itThe officeDirect replacement for my 20 year old Sirius receiver with an SMB antenna connection. Note that my old Shakespeare Galaxy Sirius antenna does work with this XM radio. I just needed a 3.5mm Male to RCA Female Stereo adapter to finish the job since the audio out jack is stereo 3.5mm. The sound is better than my original receiver. Home Docking station works very well.** Note that this is an XM receiver, which means no Howard Stern. **Excellent radio, I am very happy with this purchase. I travel a lot in the areas without cell & Internet coverage, so it’s nice to have a lot of channels. I installed antenna on my dashboard and this radio still works fine. I only have occasional cuts when I drive in the areas with a lot of hills.IMPORTANT note: SiriusXM is a brand. However, sold radios have exclusively Sirius or XM network (ie radios with both networks do not exist). In the most instances it’s not a problem – both networks are quite similar, however, if you really like some channels, check listing of each network and only after that you can buy the radio which is going to support that particular network and your favorite channels. After I bought this and went to hook it up...I found out it was an "XM" radio. So if I wanted Howard Stern...I have to pay for "All Access" which costs about 60 bucks more per year.Honestly, I'm really starting to hate SiriusXM and their BS.Why have two kinds of radio (XM radios and Sirius radios) for one company? Then when you buy a radio that says SiriusXM...you still get told it's an XM radio. WTF?!?With companies like Spotify out there....satellite radio will kill themselves off with these shady business practices and subscription rates that are getting out of hand.I purchased this product . I have been using Sirus in my small business for a decade or more . I have had exactly 3 of these radios and my olderone still work. I was recommended to purchase a new one as Sirius kept cutting out . So we need music and I purchased this radio and an attenna .Well .... The music was only playing out of one speaker . If we plugged a phone in it played out of both . I wasn't notified in time as the employees forgot to mention this and they were playing their phones .So I tried to return , they denied . It's faulty regardless . So be aware this company product may have issues wherever their manufacturering their products .So IAM unhappy . Also I'm done with Sirius . To expensive for what it is when there's so much out there besides them.Hope this has some insight .Easy to connect and a perfect spot in my new car but it only works on the right channel. Permanently mounted antenna and secured wires now it doesn’t work correctly. See what the company says. No reply yet from two emails. Called 3 times and no stock on replacement and ended up canceling my account. What crappy customer service for warranty when Amazon showed stock. No refund no credit no nothing. Two of the components broke while being installed (properly and carefully I might add). The receptacle coupling on the dock for the antenna broke and got stuck in the antenna jack. Unfortunately, Amazon says this product can’t be returned or exchanged so I’m screwed there. SuriusXM is less than useless because their customer service doesn’t seem to know their products when I called them I was on the phone for an hour and they told me to just return it to Amazon. Now I have a paper weight with a bunch of wires. Hopefully I can salvage a working component somewhere else. Avoid buying this like the plague, but directly from SiriusXM if you want the radio, at least they can provide a warranty.
